I used to come here all of the time throughout my teenage years. They got swimming pools for teens and little kids, a gym (no squat racks), basketball court inside and outside, a skatepark, football field, soccerfield, baseball field, a lake to walk around, and a little trail to walk around behind the fields. I had a lot of fun and there's barely anyone here.

I love the scope of facilities this place has. The skate park, a superb pool, clean and nice locker rooms, everything here is top notch. Way beyond what I previously expected in a gym.

BUT:
My only, but serious, complaint is the hours. They largely are only open when most people are at work. Early mornings? Nope. Late evenings/night? Nope. Weekends? Open even less! I would much rather support the city's publicly funded rec centers after my experience here, but my inability to line my schedule up with working out at this facility makes me consider going back to the likes of 24 hour fitness and such.

Great Aquatics and Front Desk Staff. Came to swim laps while in Denver for work. Mike and Elizur were friendly and took great care of all of the patrons. I appreciate the front desk staff (Jean) remembering me from previous visits. I will definitely come again.

I go for water aerobics. Its fun and it's quite a work out. The fee is $2.00 each day and is Mon and Wed from 11 to noon. Tue and Thur from 5 to 6 pm. If you are over 60 you don't have to pay. Its a special program but. I don't know what its called.
There gym is Huge. There exercise room has a lot of workout equipment.
There are programs for the kids and they can eat dinner there Monday - Friday. I don't have any under 21 so I am not sure about all that they do.

This rec center is walking distance to my house, and I choose to drive almost 20 minutes to Central Park just to avoid this place. The lady at the front desk in the morning is the worst person I have ever had the displeasure of paying to interact with. Every single time I came in she was rude, or did not acknowledge me at all. She asked me to come take a photo after swim class one morning (when I was sweating, hair partially wet, no makeup etc.), and when I requested to take it the next time I came in she was extremely rude. I didn't understand why it wasn't taken when I first signed up for a membership, and I swear she would do things like this just to make the experience more miserable because I don't know why it needed to be done that day. I realized I was feeling grumpy after leaving each time I came, and it was because I had to see her- it really was that bad and a terrible way to start the day. I was coming for the aqua fitness classes, and they were a complete joke. The lifeguards doing the classes were often on their phones during class and did not seem prepared at all, mostly just going off the same sheet class after class. I like current top 40ish music, but the things they would choose for class seemed inappropriate for the crowd and class. It was also more of a social club with most of the participants standing around and chatting vs following the class. After a few weeks of trying to just make it work, I decided I felt very unwelcome here and chose to look at other recs for classes. Central Park isn't perfect, but it's a whole lot more welcoming, cleaner and larger.
